Strider, 1985

Tolstoy writes Strider, the tale of a piebald gelding, at around the time he marries but it is not published for another 20 years. Written from the point of view of the horse, it is a metaphor for the interdependence of living things upon each other and a reflection on the evils of modern society, including the ownership of property.
